Well, no one seems to be reading this blog, so I guess its okay that I haven't posted in a while.
OOOOOKAy HERE WE GO!!
Well, three (or two) weeks ago we went to Appalachian State for a band competition (Yes, the ASU in North Carolina.) We were up there for 4 days. And we won in our division, and got fourth overall.
And last weekend, we competed in the Largo Golden Invitational, and we took home Best Brass, Woodwinds, Drum major, first in our class, Pride and Class award, AND Grand Champion.
Oh, AND WE BLOCK SEEDED FOR SEMIS!!
Yeah, I'm, like, totally psyched!!
No, seriously.
So we've got another competition today, and it's gonna be raw.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhh!!
Our show is done, so now it's just cleaning and hard work!!!

The Royal Ambassador Marching Band returns as reigning State Champions for 2011's show, "The Power Of Love" (working title). Last year's band of 52 students included 12 ninth graders, 9 eighth graders, and 2 seventh graders, with twenty-one students being first year members! This year we're back with more newbies, and I'm here to share the trials and triumphs of the Royal Ambassador Marching Band!!

So Now The Fun Begins...
I have a very fabulous tan, and by fabulous I mean a tshirt tan.
faaaaaaaaaaaaantastic.
Hmm, let's see what I did...
Day 1- Almost passed out. Partying partying YEAH! Oh yeah and I was homeless. Then I got a home. Established that I was on the Blue team with the True Colors test.
Day 2- Ummm... got ahead with the Blue team. Started drill and played games.
Day 3- hmm, let's see. Oh we got our 80's team color sweatbands. And we were supposed to have a campfire, but it was too hot so we stayed inside
Day 4- Well, this was Thursday. We learned more drill, and night activity was the annual Skit Night! Blue Team came in second with our Awkward Subway skit, and congrats to Jacob and Jeremy for winning with their Therapy skit!!
Day 5- It's FRIDAY! FRIDAY! GOTTA GET DOWN OF FRIDAY!! And we did. We finished learning the first movement, and had fun at the annual Ice Cream Social. This years theme was 80's (obviously) so we had Coke in glass bottles and dressed in 80's garb (kinda). Then I was kept up until 2 by Senoir Prank and talkers.
Day 6- HOME! We performed for the parents, and then we had lunch and LEFT! Senior prank was lame. No offense Seniors, but Senior Citizens probably could have done better. But to your defense, there are only five of you.
And then we all slept for the next two days.

I think I should only use 80's references.
Unfortunantely, I was born in the 90's, so I dno't know many 80's references.

In Love With The 80's
So this year our overall general theme is the 80's. It was going to be "The Power Of Love", but they couldn't figure out how to get that into our show. So right now we are without a title for our show. But we have until like, September, sooooo...
We've got an awesome band this year. Right now we're looking at being a 2A band, so here's hoping we get back down to 1A!!! It's crazy, you can have like 5,000,000 people in your guard and pit, but if you have 30 wind players, you can still be 1A...
Last year we had a bunch of newbs, and this year isn't any different. There's also the difference between newbs and young ones. we have two 8th graders returning as vets, but we have a bunch of other 8th graders as newbs. and a 7th grader. ......
So it's gonna be a fun year!! Just gotta get loose! Footloose!
